Just days after reports surfaced that Brad Pitt did not attend daughter Zahara Jolie’s graduation from Spelman College, the Oscar-winning actor was photographed looking affectionate with girlfriend Ines de Ramon at a glamorous event in Los Angeles — and the timing has fans talking.

The 62-year-old actor attended the Mercedes-AMG world premiere at the Sixth Street Bridge on May 19 alongside de Ramon, 33, where the pair reportedly held hands, laughed together, and stayed close throughout the night. Photos from the event quickly spread online as social media users connected the appearance to Pitt’s noticeable absence from Zahara’s college graduation just days earlier.

De Ramon wore a bright red strapless dress with matching heels, while Pitt opted for a brown suit paired with tinted aviator glasses and a cream button-down shirt. The couple appeared relaxed and affectionate as cameras followed them through the event.

But online conversation surrounding Pitt’s appearance quickly shifted from fashion to family drama.

Zahara, whom Pitt shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta over the weekend. During the graduation ceremony livestream, she was reportedly announced as “Zahara Marley Jolie” — notably leaving out “Pitt” from her last name.

The move reignited years of speculation surrounding Pitt’s strained relationship with several of his children following his highly publicized split from Jolie in 2016.

This is not the first time Zahara has publicly distanced herself from the Pitt surname. In 2023, during her induction into the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, she introduced herself simply as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”

Pitt and Jolie share six children together: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. In recent years, several of the children have reportedly chosen to drop “Pitt” from their public names, fueling continued public fascination with the family’s fractured dynamic.

The latest photos of Pitt smiling beside his much younger girlfriend while missing a major milestone in his daughter’s life have sparked heated reactions online, with some criticizing the actor and others defending his right to privacy.

Neither Pitt nor Zahara has publicly addressed the graduation absence.
