CicLAvia Returns to Hollywood July 19 With 6.6 Miles of Car-Free Streets, Pop-Up Park and World Cup Final Watch Party

Los Angeles residents and visitors will get the chance to experience Hollywood without traffic as CicLAvia—Meet the Hollywoods transforms city streets into a giant people-powered park on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

For one day only, thousands of Angelenos are invited to walk, bike, skate, jog, and explore a 6.6-mile open streets route connecting West Hollywood, Hollywood, and East Hollywood during the free community event presented by Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving participants the opportunity to experience some of Los Angeles’ most iconic neighborhoods without cars dominating the streets.

A Temporary Park Takes Over Hollywood Streets

CicLAvia—Meet the Hollywoods will transform major sections of the city into a temporary public park where people of all ages can enjoy the streets in a new way.

The route connects:

• West Hollywood along Santa Monica Boulevard
• Hollywood along Highland Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard
• East Hollywood near Virgil Avenue and Hillhurst Avenue

Unlike traditional festivals that take place in one location, CicLAvia allows visitors to move freely throughout the route while discovering restaurants, shops, cultural landmarks, and neighborhood attractions.

The event is free and open to everyone. Participants can arrive anywhere along the route and enjoy the day at their own pace.

World Cup Final Watch Party Comes to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Hub

Sports fans will have an extra reason to visit the event as CicLAvia hosts a World Cup final match watch party at the Walk of Fame Hub near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

The celebration will bring soccer fans together as Los Angeles prepares for its growing role as an international sports destination ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics.

“There’s no better way to showcase the city’s connectivity, creativity, and vibrant neighborhoods,” said CicLAvia Executive Director Romel Pascual. “As the World Cup comes to a close, we’ll also bring fans together with a community watch party, celebrating the tournament and the spirit of Los Angeles on our open streets.”

Four Hubs Will Offer Activities, Rest Stops, and Community Resources

The event will feature four major hubs along the route where visitors can take breaks, participate in activities, and connect with the community.

The hubs include:

West Hollywood Hub
Located on Santa Monica Boulevard east of San Vicente Boulevard.

Plummer Park Hub
Located on Santa Monica Boulevard near Martel Avenue.

Walk of Fame Hub
Located on Hollywood Boulevard at Highland Avenue.

East Hollywood Hub
Located on Hollywood Boulevard near Virgil and Hillhurst avenues.

Each hub will provide:

• Family-friendly activities
• Restrooms
• Free water refill stations
• Bike parking
• Basic bike repair
• Seating areas
• First aid services
• Information booths
• Free pedicab rides

A separate pit stop will also be available on Hollywood Boulevard near Wilton Place with water, restrooms, and bike repair services.

What You Can Ride at CicLAvia

The event focuses on people-powered transportation, meaning visitors are encouraged to explore by walking, biking, skating, jogging, or rolling.

Allowed transportation includes:

• Traditional bicycles
• Walking and jogging
• Skates
• Manual and motorized wheelchairs
• Class 1 e-bikes with pedal assist
• Class 2 e-bikes when the throttle is turned off
• Class 3 e-bikes when pedal assist is turned off

Not allowed:

• Electric scooters
• Electric skateboards
• Hoverboards
• Electric unicycles
• Motorcycles
• Other non-people-powered vehicles

CicLAvia Continues Its Mission of Reimagining Los Angeles Streets

Since launching in 2010, CicLAvia has transformed hundreds of miles of Los Angeles streets into welcoming public spaces designed for connection, exercise, and community.

Inspired by Bogotá’s weekly ciclovía tradition, CicLAvia events temporarily close streets to vehicles and open them for residents to experience their neighborhoods in a completely different way.

The nonprofit says nearly two million Angelenos have participated in CicLAvia events throughout Los Angeles County, exploring neighborhoods including Hollywood, Chinatown, Boyle Heights, Venice, South Los Angeles, West Hollywood, and more.

Beyond recreation, organizers say the events support local businesses, encourage healthier lifestyles, improve access to public spaces, and promote more sustainable transportation options.

With international attention focused on Los Angeles ahead of major global sporting events, CicLAvia—Meet the Hollywoods offers residents and visitors a chance to experience the city’s culture, neighborhoods, and community spirit.

Whether attendees come for the World Cup watch party, a bike ride through Hollywood, or simply a chance to enjoy car-free streets, organizers say the event is designed for everyone.
