Karen Huger’s DUI Arrest and Conviction

Huger, 62, was arrested in 2024 after wrecking her Maserati in a high-speed crash. She was later found guilty of DUI in December 2024 and sentenced in February to two years in prison, with one year suspended. The reality star was immediately taken into custody at the time.

Bodycam footage of the incident was released publicly, showing Huger visibly intoxicated, slurring her words, and admitting to being “drunk.” In one bizarre exchange, she even referred to herself as Thomas Jefferson’s “concubine” while speaking to police during interrogation.

Huger Speaks Out on ‘RHOP’

The arrest and footage later became a storyline on RHOP, with Huger telling her husband, Ray, that she initially refused to watch the video.

“I’m sitting there in the courtroom, like, I have to finally watch it … and I’m telling you, I didn’t recognize that woman,” she admitted on the March 2025 episode. Huger also claimed she “blacked out” before the crash.

Gizelle Bryant Says Huger “Ran” Prison

Despite the controversy, Huger’s co-star, Gizelle Bryant, revealed in April that the Bravolebrity was thriving behind bars.

“From what I understand, they love her up in where she is right now. They absolutely love her. They are loving the Grande Dame! And you know she’s running that thing,” Bryant said on Watch What Happens Live.

A History of Violations

This wasn’t Huger’s first run-in with traffic law. Records show she has faced four driving violations since 2006.

Still, fans of the Bravo star are celebrating her release and are curious to see whether Huger will address her time in prison on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
