A 25-year-old Welsh woman in Wales, Rhiannon Evans, has pleaded guilty to harassing her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend, Deborah Prytherch, by sending her multiple videos of herself farting.
The bizarre case has gained traction on social media, with many users searching for “Welsh woman pleads guilty to sending fart videos Instagram” and “Welsh woman pleads guilty to sending fart videos YouTube.”
Evans reportedly sent at least eight videos, laughing as she placed a camera near her bottom before passing gas directly into the lens.
One of the videos, which was described as a “wet fart,” led to searches like “wet fart prank Gilstraptv” and “girl fart TV news.”
Prosecutor Diane Williams described Evans’ actions as “purely malicious,” emphasizing that she deliberately tried to taunt Prytherch.
The case, which some are calling the “first-ever prosecution for malicious fart videos,” has been widely discussed online, with searches like “Welsh woman pleads guilty to sending fart videos ever” trending.
Evans admitted to sending the videos, claiming she felt her partner was being treated unfairly. However, her defense attorney, Harriet Gorst, stated that Evans had been drinking and sent the videos without malicious intent.
Some online users have compared the incident to popular “girl fart – YouTube” prank videos, while others have joked about learning how to say “fart in Welsh.”
The victim, Prytherch, expressed her distress, stating that she no longer feels safe in her home. As a result, Evans was fined approximately $373, including $124 in compensation to Prytherch.
The court also ordered Evans to attend 15 rehabilitation sessions, abstain from drinking for two months, and avoid contacting Prytherch for two years.
