Nina Childs wears many hats—mother, writer, producer, unapologetic film lover—but at her core, she’s a storyteller. One who’s not here to play it safe.

With over a decade in theater, Nina’s built a name for herself crafting stories that resonate. She’s earned accolades like the Producer’s Encore Award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and consistently brings fearless, visionary energy to every stage she touches. Her work is layered, emotional, and always intentional.

Now, she’s stepping into a new light with Boplicity—her boldest film yet. Premiering this summer at the Universe Multicultural Film Festival, Boplicity isn’t just a movie. It’s a statement.

“Three years ago, I set out to make a film about friendship,” Nina says. “The kind shared between icons—people who shaped culture in ways we’re still unpacking. I picked two of the biggest names in Black history. One is still mysterious. The other, now fallen from grace.”

People advised her to choose safer subjects. “Pick different heroes,” they said. But Nina’s never been in the business of playing small.

“I didn’t want to make the easy film. I wanted to make the real one,” she says. “I wanted to spark a conversation—and now, with the Universe Multicultural Film Festival, that conversation gets to happen on a big stage.”

Boplicity is just the beginning. Nina’s also deep in rehearsals for TV Land, her first immersive theater tour, and she’s building out her passion project, Film News You Can Use—a weekly review series that blends her love for movies with the kind of unfiltered insight only she can deliver.

From writing rooms to film sets, from black boxes to big screens, Nina Childs isn’t just creating work—she’s creating waves. And she’s just getting started.

🎬 Boplicity is more than a film—it’s a moment.
