The Marathon continues as Nipsey Hussle’s brand makes its mark in the restaurant industry with the opening of Marathon Burger in Melrose, Los Angeles’ Fairfax District. The eatery, located at 7507 Melrose Ave., officially opened its doors on Saturday, celebrating the next chapter in Hussle’s enduring vision.

From Pop-Up to Permanent What initially started as a pop-up has now become a fully realized restaurant, serving up a variety of burgers, sandwiches, milkshakes, and hot wings. The team behind the venture, led by Hussle’s brother Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, was inspired after embarking on a smash burger tour, sampling ingredients from different establishments and crafting their own perfected recipes.

“… The idea just came like, man, we need to create a Marathon Burger and do it our way with all the best ingredients,” Samiel shared. “Once the idea came, the team was like, ‘All right, we need to make this happen.’”

Quality Ingredients, Made Fresh Marathon Burger prides itself on using fresh, high-quality ingredients, avoiding frozen products whenever possible. House-made pickles and vegan patties cater to diverse dietary preferences, while their milkshakes feature the beloved Thrifty ice cream, a nostalgic nod for many LA locals.

“Everything in here you get is tailor-made to be the best,” Samiel emphasized. “So we took our time to bring in all organic products.”

A Tribute to Nipsey Hussle’s Vision The expansion into the food industry is more than just business—it’s a testament to Hussle’s entrepreneurial mindset and dedication to community empowerment. His Marathon brand, which began in 2010 with his mixtape of the same name, has grown into a movement encompassing fashion, music, and now, dining.

“I think just 100%, the Marathon concept that my brother created is just a long haul, the journey, the vision. It doesn’t happen fast, it’s slow-paced,” Samiel said. “This is just another venture into the brand … So definitely, this was in Hussle’s vision, and we’re all proud to be able to submit this Marathon Burger on Melrose.”
