It started with a simple thought: “How do I become a full-time product tester?” For Nicole Lowden, that playful idea turned into a passionate pursuit that would grow into not just one, but two thriving communities—one rooted in beauty and lifestyle, and the other in, yes, pickles.

Known online as @coliecreations, Nicole first launched her beauty and lifestyle page as a space to share honest product reviews, makeup tips, and sustainable fashion finds. “I’ve always been the go-to person for product recommendations,” she says. “Sharing new beauty finds and honest feedback with friends and family was something I genuinely loved.” Over the past seven years, she’s built a loyal, like-minded audience and collaborated with some of her dream brands—all while staying true to her voice.

But Nicole wasn’t finished creating. She had another love… pickles.

“Pickles have always been a salty comfort food of mine,” she explains. “So again, I took another leap and grew my pickle review page to 2K followers in 7 months!”

Her pickle-focused content (@the.pickledprincess) might seem like a surprising pivot, but Nicole makes it work—beautifully. She leaned fully into the niche, offering taste tests, unique recipes, and humor-filled reels that bring her community together around something oddly universal: the love of pickles.

“I adore the beauty and fashion content, but I wanted to create something VERY niche and fun,” Nicole says. “And good timing on my part—pickles are having a major moment!”

Despite the contrast between beauty and brine, she’s found creative ways to juggle both. The key? Authenticity.

“My community fuels me,” she shares. “Knowing one goofy pickle reel can spark a smile or a new beauty product can brighten someone’s day reminds me why I show up: to inspire, uplift, and spread a little everyday joy.”

Managing two accounts does come with its challenges. Nicole notes that the biggest hurdle is keeping both audiences engaged without losing her voice. But she’s built a strategy around connection—face-to-camera reels, real-life updates, and daily interactions that keep followers coming back for more.

Interestingly, her audiences have distinct personalities. The beauty/fashion side is largely women—supportive, engaged, and uplifting. Her pickle page? A fun mix of men and women with bolder opinions and deep brine-related passion.

“Pickle lovers are wildly loyal,” Nicole laughs. “They send me every pickle meme, product, and weird recipe they find—and I absolutely love it.”

But sometimes the crossover is what truly touches her. She recalls a viral video reviewing pickled tomatoes from The Pickle Guys, which racked up over 500,000 views. But even more meaningful was the message that followed—from a follower who had been silently enjoying her content and finally confessed that she was pregnant.

“She said she had intense pickle cravings and my page brought her so much joy during this special time,” Nicole says. “I actually cried.”

Her love for content creation extends to partnerships as well. She’s worked with brands like ThredUp (including a moment featured on the NASDAQ building in Times Square), Jolly Time Popcorn, and Relay Influence, who sent her to see MJ the Musical on Broadway. And of course, she continues to highlight small pickle businesses like her beloved Pickle Guys in NYC.

When it comes to advice for creators who want to branch out, Nicole is crystal clear:

“Post what makes you happy! If you’re passionate about more than one niche, let that shine. People follow YOU, not just your content.”

Looking forward, Nicole has exciting plans for both communities. On the beauty side, she wants to lean into brand partnerships that align with her values and create even more relatable, on-camera content. For her pickle page, she’s cooking up creative recipes, collabs with small businesses, and more ways to bond “over the brine.”

No matter the niche, Nicole’s story proves that success isn’t just about fitting in—it’s about standing out, staying consistent, and showing up with heart.
