Approximately 100,000 eggs valued at $40,000 were stolen from the back of a distribution trailer at Pete and Gerry’s Organics LLC in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. The theft occurred on Saturday, February 1, at around 8:40 p.m.
Egg Height Investigation Underway
State police are investigating the incident, but no suspects have been announced yet. Pete and Gerry’s Organics is cooperating with the authorities and has released a statement expressing their commitment to resolving the matter quickly.

The theft comes amid a surge in egg prices, driven by bird flu outbreaks and increased demand during the holiday season. The average price for a dozen eggs in the United States has jumped 50% in the last year, with experts predicting further price increases as Easter approaches.
