CHICAGO, IL – February 25, 2025 – A Southwest Airlines flight had a close call at Chicago Midway International Airport on Tuesday morning, narrowly avoiding a collision with another aircraft on the runway, according to multiple reports.
Video footage circulating online shows what appears to be Southwest Flight 2504 attempting to land when a private jet crossed its path. The incident occurred in the morning hours, though an exact time has not been confirmed.
According to a statement from Southwest Airlines to CNN, Flight 2504 was able to land safely, and there were no reported injuries. Details regarding the private jet involved have not yet been released.
