This Vegan Fish recipe is crispy, flaky, and delicious—without the seafood! Made with hearts of palm and nori, this dish mimics real fish texture & flavor, making it the perfect plant-based alternative.
Vegan Fish Recipe
Ingredients
2 cans hearts of palm, drained
1 sheet nori, torn into small pieces (adds seafood flavor!)
1 cup unsweetened plant milk
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning!)
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Prep the Hearts of Palm
- Shred hearts of palm into fish-like strips.
- Wrap in small pieces of nori for seafood flavor.
Make the Batter
- Mix plant milk + vinegar and let sit.
- In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, and seasonings.
Coat & Fry
- Dip “fish” in wet batter, then coat with dry mixture.
- Fry until golden brown.
Serve with Tartar Sauce!
- Enjoy with fries & lemon wedges!
